I dug this out of the archives for a friend who was after a picture of old toys. Taken on a rooftop in Barcelona.

Bank holiday kicked off with some crazy weather. The rain was so heavy for such a prolonged period that we had a miniature water fall running into our garden from the neighbours. This was complimented by several leaks inside the house. We cant complain however as many people in the area found water gushing into their homes and there were some amazing pictures online of submerged cars and flooded streets.

Sooooooo, yeah – not updated the 365 for a while. Its become a 280 or something. Anyway, i’ve been busy shooting weddings, working, parenting, making up excuses, blah, etc, look over there! *cough*. Thing is, i’d missed so much it was getting harder and harder to get back into it and catch up. So i’m not going to! I’m starting a fresh. Not sure where its going to go but I’m thinking of attacking the archive and seeing what I can dig out.
Anyway, to start here is a picture of a dog from a wedding I shot recently. Awesome.
St Clements in Leigh was just round the corner from my old house and I managed to shoot there just before I moved. I’ve been a bit quicker in Rayleigh and was lucky enough to shoot Lisa & Davids wedding at the Holy Trinity church, just round the corner from my new house!
There was much talk of ‘the hottest day of the year’ in the week leading up to the big day (I think I check the weather as much as brides to be!) and it was pretty balmy, but not too hot, just right.
This wedding was booked via a recommendation and its always nice to see familiar faces. David was the best man at a previous job so I new his best side! They were an amazing couple to work with, very much in love and for a few moments there they almost forgot about me! A memorable day for everyone involved.
Part insane line-dancing party, part student knees up, Sarah & Matthews wedding was as romantic as it was fun. A stunning church set the backdrop for the ceremony, with the reception at Southend-on-Sea’s famous Kursaal. As Sarah is from the US, the venues proved perfect examples of Essex life for the visiting Americans!
Sarah & Matthew are fresh out of university so really are starting their lives together. They kicked it off with a bang on their wedding day, both (understandably) a little nervous at the start of the day, but by the time they were doing the Macarena they were relaxed, having fun and obviously in love.
On the way home I heard something about a ‘super moon’ on the radio and as I was driving back past the church I had to stop for a few pictures. Apparently the full moon coincided with its closest orbit to the earth.
A stunning end to a magical day.

We had these ‘cakes in a jar’ made for Elizabeths birthday. They were super nice and out of appreciation for the makers I took a few shots before they went to the party and were devoured.

Blog has been on hold for a little while for a number of reasons. Wedding season has started so I have been super busy. Also, baby is due soon so been decorating/cleaning/not taking pictures/cleaning/DIY etc etc.
Finally, I got a bit bored so I’ve taken a little change of approach. As well as images captured during daily life i’ll be mixing in some old shots and stuff from my archive that I never got around to editing.
This one is from a trip to Blackpool for party. We arrived early evening and there was this huge brooding storm on the horizon. The kind where you can physically feel the change in atmospherics.
We ordered these cakes from a friend for a friend, if that makes sense?! Before they were taken to the party I took a few quick detail shots on the kitchen table.
Once Upon a Cake Stand offer bespoke vintage tea parties in the comfort of your own home. I took it upon myself to sample each flavour and can confirm they are delish!
Harry booked me to do a green-screen booth for his 18th with a New York theme (below). As ever I was snapping away throughout the evening. I was trying to remember what I did for my 18th, which means it wasn’t this good!

Big skate comp at Leigh-on-Sea. Took some pictures for the organisers which were all delivered in colour. I always like skate shots in B&W so here is one which didn’t make the blog.

Or nosey locals (like me). I’m always interested in what happens to the photos people take and why they take them. As you can see from the previous post, there really isn’t much going on in Rayleigh and its kind of just flat. Its interesting spotting the things you know and that. I suppose the different viewpoint of a familiar place is the attraction. I certainly lost interest so started taking pictures of these people taking pictures!
I suspect most of the pictures taken get deleted. Most of mine did……..

Another shot from our honeymoon. Jericoacoara is on the north coast of Brazil and apparently is a mecca for wind and kite surfing. Where the desert meets the coast there is an almighty sand dune. Every day, at the end of the day, the whole town tips out and walks up the dune to watch the sunset. We spent about a week there and every day was structured around sunset. I think it was the same for everyone there!
This picture doesn’t do it justice.
Another Switch comp with the usual faces popping up from Switch, Zukie and Bondi Beer. The difference this year is that they added some bands which gave it a real festival vibe. White Devil’s Cause, being our local signed band sorted a stage over the bowl which was awesome. The rain stayed away, beers were drunk, tricks were landed (or not in George’s case!) and it felt like the whole town tipped up for the party.
Another product drop from the Zukie crew.
A sunny morning with Sarah from Weald Handmade and Andrea (the talent) shooting these for the web store. Except it wasn’t sunny it was freezing and windy. A strobe warming filter (full CTO) is all thats used to give the illusion of a summer morning!
What a dizzyingly beautiful day. Full of colour and emotion, love and friendship. The Lawn in Rochford is one of my favourite venues, full of vibrant colour. Its the first time I have shot at St Clements in Leigh and I know the church well as I used to live round the corner. Its an amazing church in a really stunning setting.
Charlotte, Adam and their families made me feel very welcome and I even had a place at one of the tables for lunch (although I only sat down for a few minutes, scoff and go!). They were blessed with one of those magical days that don’t come along very often. I feel honoured to have been part of their day.

In 2009 me and Kate spent just over a month in South America for our honeymoon. I’m thinking of going through the photo’s to make a book and this is a bit of a test. I was a little naive behind the camera back then and shot mainly poorly exposed jpegs. This one has passed through both Lightroom and Photoshop.

I have found that the 365 project is mainly filler. I find myself blogging the best of what I have, which may not actually be that interesting or aesthetic. I suppose thats the point, its difficult and requires that you try to create something out of the mundane. However, at times an image appears that makes it worth while. This is one of them.
After the gig last night I booked a hotel on my phone – this was the result! This is one of two single beds that me and Kate stayed in. It was cheap but served a purpose.
Another bunch of posts as not got round to uploading them. Its also getting a little difficult now as I feel like i’m going over old ground with a lot of the shots. I don’t think the weather helps, I mean seriously, March can do one. Although I did read in the news today that we can expect the cold weather to last until May! Urgh.
